1: Devin Booker (2015)

When you’ve drawn comparisons to Kobe Bryant, you’ve made it as a player. This was obvious. You would be daft not to rank Devin Booker as number one.

Booker was drafted with the thirteenth in 2015. After a decent season in Kentucky, Booker’s scoring efforts would good enough to earn the hype from scouts. The Suns would make one of their best drafting decisions in franchise history when selecting the Kentucky product. Booker was scouted and was easily the best shooter in the draft.

However, he was expected to play more backup role than anything. It was easy to see that Booker was raw, and the Suns were pulling off a heist when selecting the shooter, and oh boy, did they strike the ultimate jackpot when giving Booker some opportunities.

Throughout his five seasons in Phoenix, Booker has averaged 22.3 points and 4.7 dimes a game. From his rookie season, Booker had superstar potential that has grown into an amalgamation of a player, with a superstar emerging in Phoenix.

While becoming one of the best scorers in the NBA, Booker has morphed into a great defender and playmaker. Booker also managed to score 70 points in a game in 2017, which has easily become one of the best performances in the modern NBA.

It’s safe to say that Booker has been the best draft pick not only the last ten draft picks but one of the best in franchise history. From becoming a one-trick pony to a dynamic scorer with fantastic playmaking ability, Booker is the prime candidate to lead this young Suns team to the promised land.
