4. Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are actively engaged in trade talks with the Detroit Pistons for Andre Drummond according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The problem for Drummond is he will be going to the second-worst team in the league. They are only marginally ahead of the Warriors in the standings.

The Hawks are 30th in offensive rating with 103.4 points per 100 possessions. To make matters worse, they are only 26th in the league in defensive rating with 112.5 points per 100 possessions.  This is not a good combination for a winning formula.

Drummond would be a serious upgrade for the Hawks. Their best option at center right now is Alex Len, who is averaging 9.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Their other two options are Damian Jones and Bruno Fernando.

The issue for the Hawks is the same as it was for the Knicks, except worse. They are last in the league in 3-point percentage, making only 31.9 of their attempts. They also take the eighth-most at 35.3 attempts per game.

The Hawks are also at the bottom end of the NBA in rebounding. They are 27th in total rebounds, 26th in offensive rebounds and 25th in defensive rebounds. Drummond will be able to help in this department.

As far as needs go, this is the best team for Drummond. As far as his career goes, this is one of his worst options in the league. So again, thanks to his ability to opt out of his contract, the Hawks will be giving up something for essentially nothing at the end of the season.
