Milwaukee Bucks: 5 reasons to be excited for 2019-20 NBA season

5. The band is back together
For championship contenders, keeping the core intact is one of the most critical, yet difficult tasks to complete. Luckily for the Milwaukee Bucks, they won’t have to worry about that problem for at least another offseason.
Khris Middleton’s contract extension has been addressed. Set to be a member of the Bucks until the conclusion of his age-32 season, this was a great deal for both sides. Middleton is able to cash in and still have a chance at a three-year-or-so deal once his current contract expires.
Milwaukee locks up its second-leading scorer and running mate to Giannis Antetokounmpo. It’s a win-win situation.
Bledsoe signed a four-year, $70 million extension of his own in March. Just like Middleton’s, this deal will allow Bledsoe to hit the free agent market again once his 32nd birthday has passed.
Giving the Bucks a steady scorer, facilitator and defender at the point guard position for the immediate future, this transaction was a no-brainer.
Last, but certainly not least, comes Antetokounmpo. As things currently stand, the reigning MVP will become a free agent for the first time during the summer of 2021.
The Bucks will be able to offer him more money than any other team, which could sway the superstar to re-up for four or five years.
League Executive of the Year, Jon Horst, has given Milwaukee at least two chances to compete for a championship with the core it has. All three members of the Antetokounmpo, Middleton and Bledsoe trio are under 30 years old and have a lot of productive basketball ahead of them.
This is a huge win for the Bucks.
