He ain’t no b*tch

Another player the Sixers retained was fan favorite Mike Scott, whose Hive will grow even bigger now. To commemorate the occasion, Scott gave a hilarious indication of his return in response to this Harris tweet:

Scott fell in love with the city the minute a fan tattooed “Mike Scott Hive” on his torso. A journeyman of sorts, Scott (like many others) has never played for a fan base as intense as Philly’s.

Per reports, Scott will receive $9.8 million over two years, which means the Sixers used the Room Exception on him. That’s important, because if the team had kept his cap hold and used Non-Bird Rights to re-sign him, they wouldn’t have had the cap space to sign Horford.

Antics aside, Scott is a perfect backup forward. He shoots well (41.2 percent from 3 as a 76er), defends competently and is a great locker room guy. He knows his role and will do his best to complement his superiors.

The rest of the roster will be sprinkled with veteran minimum contracts. Barring a steal on the open market, the Sixers’ core players for the 2019-20 season are here.

Grade: A (who doesn’t love Mike Scott?)
