2019 NBA free agency: 5 potential landing spots for Kemba Walker
4. Los Angeles Lakers
Walker potentially joining forces with LeBron James and Anthony Davis in L.A. would further propel the Los Angeles Lakers as a favorite to come out of the Western Conference and reach the NBA Finals a year after they missed the postseason.
He would fit in nicely alongside James and Davis, although it would be hard not to with the caliber of talent between those two alone.
Walker would provide the Lakers with the opportunity to spread the floor on the offensive end, which would open things up nicely for James in transition and Davis in the paint in Los Angeles.
The one hurdle that the Lakers would have to overcome in an attempt to sign Walker is freeing up a little bit more cap space to be able to offer the floor general a max contract that he will likely search for this offseason.
That is, of course, unless Walker is willing to take a little bit less money-wise in order to make the move to L.A. and contend for an NBA title immediately.
One thing has been clear with Walker throughout the past year and in the time leading up to free agency: He’s not so much focused on the money that he will be getting in the offseason, but is more interested in winning in his ninth NBA season.
The Lakers could provide Walker with that and more, so the idea of him creating a Big 3 with James and Davis should be a scary thought for the rest of the league.
