Milwaukee Bucks: 3 takeaways from dominant Game 2 win vs. Raptors
1. Bucks are the superior team
In the series opener, the Bucks struggled after being off for nearly a week. Although the Bucks shot 39.8 percent overall and just 25 percent from downtown, not even rust was enough to prevent them from posting a come-from-behind victory.
In Game 2, the Bucks came out flying right from the start, scoring the first nine points and led by double digits over the game’s final 39 minutes on their way to an easy 22-point victory.
From an individual standpoint, the Raptors don’t have an answer for the Greek Freak. At the center position, Marc Gasol has had a difficult time defending the likes of Brook Lopez and Nikola Mirotic.
Lopez erupted for 29 points in Game 1, while Mirotic scored 15 points in Game 2. Meanwhile, Gasol finished Game 2 with a stat line of just two points (1-for-9 shooting); five rebounds and was a -19.
Furthermore, the Raptors are only going to go as far as Leonard can carry them. Conversely, the Bucks have multiple players who can step up at any moment as indicated by the six players who scored in double figures in Game 2.
There’s a point in every playoff series where one of the ball clubs knows they are the superior team. That time has already come in this conference finals matchup.
