1.  The MVP is a one-man race

I understand all too well that the MVP is awarded for regular season accomplishments, but after his sheer dominant force has evolved into during the first two rounds of the playoffs, Giannis has all but proved himself as being deserving of the 2018-19 MVP award.

After cruising to a first round sweep against a war-torn albeit scrappy Detroit Pistons team sans Blake Griffin (for the most part), the Greek Freak ran into his first true test of his first (of many) MVP years.

Following a rough Game 1 against the sneakily physical and agile Al Horford, Giannis has responded with a three-game stretch comparable to a 1999-00 Shaquille O’Neal, averaging 33.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. More importantly, he’s led his team to three consecutive victories.

Next. Each team's greatest NBA Draft pick of all-time. dark

Not only has Antetokounmpo’s performance been comparable to a young Diesel, but in his latest example of how the once frail, afraid teenager from Greece has transformed into a perennial MVP candidate, his 17.5 points per game in the paint against what was once a top-five interior defense team are leading the charge in what seems to be the end of a tumultuous year for Irving and the Celtics.
