15. LeBron James passes Michael Jordan for fourth on all-time scoring list

LeBron James passing Wilt Chamberlain for fifth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list was a big moment in mid-November, but everyone knew the real question was when he would pass the ghost he’s been chasing since he first entered the league.

On March 6, the long-awaited moment finally came:

LeBron has been compared to Michael Jordan his whole career, and his accomplishments will continue to be compared to the GOAT as long as he’s in the NBA.

Passing Jordan on the all-time scoring leaderboard was such a significant and emotional moment for the King that he looked completely dazed during the ensuing timeout, overwhelmed with the realization of what he had finally accomplished.

Sure, it took him 118 more games than MJ to get there, but it was still a meaningful accomplishment that speaks to LeBron’s greatness and longevity. Now we eagerly await the moment he passes Kobe Bryant for third on the list, next season preferably in a home game at Staples Center in front of a crowd of diehard Mamba fans who remain largely ungrateful for the King’s arrival.
