8. KAT puts up 41 points against OKC

The Timberwolves are normally the team being dominated in specific matchups, but for some reason they’ve seemed to have the Oklahoma City Thunder’s number over the past few seasons. A long-standing joke among Timberwolves fans is that if you could convince Andrew Wiggins that every game was against the Thunder, he’d be the special player everyone always thought he’d become.

And yet on March 5, Karl-Anthony Towns stepped into the spotlight (again) to guide the Wolves to their third win against OKC of the season, posting 41 points on just 27 shots. Even more impressive was the fact that he didn’t commit a single turnover the entire game.

While this was yet another essentially meaningless game for the Wolves, seeing KAT drop a vintage performance on a playoff-bound Thunder team was encouraging.
