Detroit Pistons: 3 Reggie Jackson trade proposals
2. Sacramento Kings
Rumors have circulated recently that the Sacramento Kings are interested in moving power forward Zach Randolph. They also could be interested in getting rid of the remaining money on shooting guard Iman Shumpert‘s contract, which expires at the end of the season. The Kings appear set with their point guard of the future in De’Aaron Fox, but they could use an additional body to soak up some minutes for him like Jackson.
A move like this would help the Pistons in multiple ways. Randolph and Shumpert are both on expiring contracts, and they play positions that the Pistons lack depth. The Pistons also need to tank out the rest of the year to improve their pick, while the Kings are battling for the 8-seed in the Western Conference. Jackson works best as a bench unit leader, so the fit works out for him as well.
The Pistons would have to send former first round pick Henry Ellenson out to make the money work, but, after having his option for next season declined, that won’t affect the Kings’ future spending ability. If Sacramento needs a little more incentive to push the deal through, the Pistons could consider adding their second round pick or swingman Reggie Bullock to get the job done.
