Milwaukee Bucks: November recap and takeaways
Best individual performance: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nov. 21 vs. Blazers
On Nov. 21 against the Blazers, Antetokounmpo posted a 33-point, 16-rebound, nine-assist, three-steal performance, going 13-for-20 from the field in a blowout win. He had a +27 plus/minus, and he did all of this in less than 30 minutes of playing time.
No other player has recorded at least 33 point, 16 rebounds and nine assist in a game so far this season, and only a few have even come close. In fact, ignoring points, 16 rebounds and nine assists has only been achieved four times this season (twice by Giannis). The other two times were by Russell Westbrook and DeAndre Jordan. The only other Buck to ever have such a game was Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
With that being said, a 33-16-9 game is not just special for this season, but it historically great too. It puts Giannis in absolutely elite territory. Only 20 others have recorded those numbers, and of them, 18 are in the Hall of Fame (or will be once they’re eligible).
It’s also worth mentioning, Antetokounmpo did it in the fewest minutes played of the lot (since minutes have been tracked). When you add the three steals to the stat line, the list shortens from 21 total players to just seven including Giannis.
