Milwaukee Bucks: Trade value rankings
Tier 1: Untouchables
The most valuable tier holds the untouchables. This means there is effectively zero chance of these assets getting moved this season, unless something extremely unexpected were to occur. The Bucks have two untouchable assets.
2. Head coach Mike Budenholzer
Maybe a little surprising for coaches to be viewed as a movable asset, but they can indeed be traded for draft picks. Most recently, Doc Rivers was traded by the Boston Celtics to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2013. Budenholzer has already revolutionized the Bucks’ offensive system to make them a juggernaut in the East.
Past Milwaukee coaches have severely limited this team, failing to have any truly successful seasons despite having a lot of talent. Budenholzer can be the one to help the Bucks reach their ceiling and have a legitimate chance of competing in the Eastern Conference Finals. There is no realistic asset that would warrant the trading of the Bucks head coach at this point.
1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis exceeds expectations in every aspect of contract trade value. First and foremost, his production is incredible. He is one of the best players in the league and by far the best player on the Bucks, who sit just one game back of the top spot in the East. Averaging 25.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game on great efficiency with elite defense, the Greek Freak provides a lot of everything (other than shooting). He is one of the early MVP favorites.
At just 23 years old, Antetokounmpo seems poised to just continue improving in every facet of the game, and his current contract lasts another two full seasons. Despite being a top-seven player in the NBA, he is only the 29th-highest paid this season. And on top of everything, he has no major injury history. This is NBA trade value jackpot.
You can expect to see these faces around Milwaukee for a while.
