2. More shooting is always better

Bullock, the Pistons’ leading 3-point shooter from last season, is shooting a miserable 4-of-20 from 3-point range this season. That puts him below the likes of Johnson and Jackson, who are anything but consistent 3-point shooters over their careers. While Bullock should rebound, Kennard can help tide the team over until that point in time. Throughout his young career, Kennard’s shot has held true, and it will continue to do so.

When looking at the top-five offenses from last season, four of the top five ranked within the top-10 in 3-pointers per game. While the Minnesota Timberwolves were an outlier at 30th overall, more shooting was generally a good thing. Currently, the Pistons are 18th overall in 3-pointers made per game. Kennard doesn’t figure to start playing a ton of minutes, but they should let him start bombing away from 3-point range at least six or seven times a game.

Shooting records continue to be shattered on a yearly basis. 3-point shooters at every position continue to be paid well for what they do. However, some teams aren’t fully embracing that movement. The Pistons are one of those teams, but Kennard can help them join the modern movement just a bit.
