5. Wendell Carter Jr. will start at some point

The Bulls selected Wendell Carter Jr. with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. During his lone season at Duke, he compiled averages of 13.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.

In the eyes of some, these may be considered modest numbers, but considering he wasn’t the first or second scoring option on a talented Blue Devils’ roster, those stats are rather respectable. Also, Carter showed that he can get it done at both ends of the floor, as he averaged 2.1 blocks per game and he posted a 2.6 blocks per game average during NBA Summer League competition as well.

Initially, the Bulls will allow Robin Lopez to hold down the center position, and rightfully so. After all, he has consistently played well during his tenure in the Windy City and he was the consummate professional when the front office reduced his role during the latter half of the 2017-18 campaign.

Whether Chicago decides the move Lopez prior to the trading deadline remains to be seen. What is a certainty is the Bulls have selected the guy they want to play at the center position for the foreseeable future. Simply put, look for Carter to get some playing time as the starting center, even if it is only a handful of games.
