Signing Raymond Felton

Everybody loves Raymond! The Oklahoma City Thunder re-signed free agent Raymond Felton to a one-year, $2.4 million contract in a move that helped shore up their bench talent.

Felton was as consistent as they come last season for the Thunder. He didn’t miss a single game all year, and contributed nicely with averages of 6.9 points, 2.5 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.0 3-pointers in 16.6 minutes per game.

Felton is by all accounts a great locker room presence too. He is someone who is in good standing with the team, and his ability to provide energy and shot creation off the bench is something that will continue to be important for the Thunder.

It is unclear what Felton’s role will be now that Dennis Schroder has arrived on the scene, but it never hurts to have depth at the point guard position. Even if he doesn’t see time on the court, he will contribute to the team in other ways.

Grade: B+
