Los Angeles Lakers: Predicting starting lineup and rotation
By Dan Lovi
SF: Brandon Ingram
Brandon Ingram is entering his third NBA season and is still only 20 years old. He improved drastically in his second season, nearly doubling his points per game, and went from 29.4 percent from beyond the arc to 39 percent.
Of the entire Lakers’ young core, Ingram is the most likely to blossom into a perennial NBA All-Star. Before Kawhi Leonard was traded to Toronto, ESPN NBA analyst Doris Burke said Ingram was the one piece she wouldn’t include in a trade.
Now playing alongside James, Ingram will no longer be the primary focal point of the defense. He will have more freedom on the offensive end and should get significantly more open looks.
If Ingram can stay healthy, he has the chance to take his game to an even higher level in his third season. In fact, 2018-19 might be the start of his NBA All-Star campaign .
