Philadelphia 76ers: 5 options for pick No. 60 in 2018 NBA Draft
3. Kostas Antetokounmpo, PF — Dayton
Don’t get too excited about this one. Kostas Antetokounmpo is nowhere near as talented as his big brother. There’s a reason he’s very likely to be available when the final pick of the draft rolls around.
With that being said, it wouldn’t be the worst idea for a team like the 76ers to take a flier on him. He’s obviously got the bloodlines to be a quality NBA player, sports exceptional athleticism for a 6’10” forward, and put together some solid work during his one year at Dayton.
The problem with Antetokounmpo is that he’s extremely raw. The younger brother isn’t nearly as far along in his development as Giannis, an All-Star forward for the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite that, he possesses outstanding physical tools and has the upside to evolve into a capable contributor. The question at this point is how long will that take, or if it’ll ever happen.
During his one collegiate season, Antetokounmpo averaged 5.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 57.4 percent from the field. It wasn’t an eye-popping effort from the 20-year-old Greek, but it turned enough heads to put him on the NBA’s radar.
Will he get drafted? Maybe. If he’s still on the board at No. 60, it wouldn’t be the worst idea for the 76ers to see if he can become even half the player his brother is.
