4. Darius Thompson, SG — Western Kentucky

With the final pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, the 76ers can do just about anything. I’m sure there will be some more established prospects still on the board, but I’m weighing all possibilities here.

One possibility is to go for Darius Thompson, a little-known talent out of Western Kentucky.

It’s sad to see he’s received such little attention up to this point. A potential combo guard at the next level, he sports solid size, decent athleticism and enough shooting to eventually earn a bench role. Although his scoring is a bigger strength, Thompson is also a capable playmaker who can run the show as needed.

Realistically, there isn’t anything special with Thompson. He’s never going to be anything more than a role player and possible No. 2 facilitator. While that may be the case, the former Hilltopper offers enough upside to warrant the final pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. The 76ers could actually do a lot worse.

Thompson may not have a very high ceiling, but his floor isn’t that low either. Giving him an opportunity to turn his potential into production wouldn’t be a terrible idea for Philadelphia.
