4. Landry Shamet

  • Height: 6’5”
  • Weight: 189 lbs
  • Position: PG
  • Age: 21

After playing three seasons at Wichita State, Landry Shamet is heading for the NBA. Shamet is a big guard who is arguably one of the best shooters in the entire draft.

In an interview with The Wichita Eagle, Shamet declared himself the best shooter. Shamet said, “In my mind, I’m going into this thinking I’m the best shooter in the draft and that’s what I’m going to sell myself as to teams.”

In his three seasons in college, Shamet shot a career 43.7 percent from the 3-point line (364 attempts) and 54.2 percent from 2-point range per game. Shamet has deep NBA range and has a very quick release on his jump shot.

He also plays hard on defense, makes smart passes and can run an offense. Shamet is a guy the Blazers should be okay with taking in the first round if he’s still available when they’re on the clock.

Shamet could serve as a backup at both guard positions and could play next to Lillard or McCollum. He is a sniper from behind the arc and could replace the roles of Shabazz Napier, Pat Connaughton and Wade Baldwin IV if Portland wants to let those players walk this summer. His ability to make plays and space the floor could see him get early minutes for the Blazers.
