5. Devon Hall

  • Height: 6’6”
  • Weight: 206 lbs
  • Position: 22
  • Age: SG

Devon Hall played four years at Virginia. He is an older player who does not have great explosiveness, so he has been slotted as a second round pick in most mock drafts. He can play both shooting guard, small forward and even point guard. Hall has excellent 3-and-D potential in the league and has been compared to guys like Danny Green and Royce O’Neale.

In his four seasons at Virginia, Hall shot a 38.9 percent from the 3-point line and 80.7 percent from the free throw line per game. He has ideal size for a wing in today’s NBA and will bring more than just shooting. Hall was a great one-on-one and team defender in college and that will translate for him into the NBA. His lack of quickness may prohibit him from being a lockdown defender, but he will be good enough to hold his own.

The Blazers would not have to take Hall at No. 24 if they felt like they could get him later in the draft. They could possibly make a deal with a team and acquire a second round pick to get him. He is a guy who could come in right away and contribute for the Blazers off the bench. Hall is a smart basketball player who works hard on both ends of the court. The Blazers could be killing two birds with one stone by drafting Hall, adding both a shooter and wing defender.
