2. Grayson Allen, SG — Duke

Perhaps the player who hurt his draft stock the most by going back to school last season instead of entering the NBA Draft, Grayson Allen did not show much improvement this season for Duke. Fortunately for Houston, this could mean that enough teams pass up on the former five-star recruit and he could fall into their lap in the middle of the second round.

Despite making a few negative headlines for dirty play, Allen averaged 15.5 points, 4.6 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game during his senior campaign. He was undeniably the emotional leader for Coach K’s troops throughout the season, even though he was forced to play out of position as the team’s starting point guard.

At the NBA level, Grayson Allen could be the perfect fit for Mike D’Antoni’s system. He shot better than 35 percent from 3 in all four of his seasons at Duke and showed his commitment to scrappy defense by averaging 1.7 steals per game his senior year. Given the opportunity to play more without the ball in his hands, Allen could become a solid contributor in the NBA.
