Denver Nuggets: 5 options for pick No. 43 in 2018 NBA Draft
By Ty Delbridge
4. Devon Hall
- Height: 6’6”
- Weight: 206 lbs
- Age: 23
- Position: SF
After playing four seasons at Virginia University and having a fantastic two-way career, Devon Hall is the Malcolm Brogdon of this year’s draft. Just like when Brogdon came out, Hall was one of the best two-way players in all of college basketball but is being talked about as a late second round draft pick because of his age and lack of elite athleticism. The Ringer labeled him as a “competitive two-way player who can hit spot-up 3s and defend multiple positions, which makes him a valued commodity.”
Last season at Virginia, Hall averaged 11.7 points. 4.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 0.9 steals in 32.1 minutes per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from the 3-point line. He is a big wing that can handle the ball, shoot, drive and gives 100 percent on the defensive end and on hustle plays.
The Nuggets could use Hall has a role player off the bench backing up Wilson Chandler and Gary Harris. He does not need a significant role on the offensive end, he can be the fourth option and can just focus on defense. Hall is an older, smart player who could come in right away and contribute. If the Nuggets move on from Chandler next season, they could draft his replacement in Hall.
The Ringer compared Hall to Danny Green, Keith Bogans and Royce O’Neale. All three of those guys are some of the top role players in the NBA and are valuable players to their teams. Hall is a guy who is not going to come in and cause drama in the locker room. He is going work hard and do the things needed to help the team win.
