2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Adding to the backcourt could be where the Clippers go. As mentioned previously with Sexton, the Clippers’ backcourt could use an infusion of young talent. If Sexton is gone, Kentucky’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander could fill the void.

Gilgeous-Alexander could form a deadly defensive combo with Beverley. Standing 6’6″ with a seven-foot wingspan, Gilgeous-Alexander could be a terror defensively. Opposing backcourts would fear going up against those two, as they would be hounded on a nightly basis.

That type of versatility is something that Doc Rivers would love to have. His backcourt pieces would be interchangeable, as they could all be mixed and matched. Gilgeous-Alexander is versatile enough offensively that it could work.

While he was hesitant to shoot at times, he showed he was capable of it, knocking down 40.3 percent of his 3-point attempts. He made 48.5 percent of his shots, a great number for any guard. Gilgeous-Alexander also gets the job done at the foul line, as he knocked down 81.7 percent of his free throws.

Gilgeous-Alexander made some big strides during his freshman season at Kentucky. It is a big reason that he is shooting up draft boards after coming in as a less ballyhooed prospect compared to the other freshman that Kentucky brought in.

SGA is a player to keep an eye on for the Clippers, as they can fill two needs in the lottery. If they deem point guard one of them, he could be the selection.
