3. Kevin Knox

  • Height: 6’9″
  • Weight: 205 lbs
  • Age: 18
  • Position: SF/PF

Kevin Knox is another young, one-and-done prospect out of the University of Kentucky. He came to college this season as a five-star recruit and a top-10 player in the country. He brings excellent size, fantastic scoring potential, defensive versatility and the ability to play multiple positions.

In his one season in college, Knox averaged, 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 32.4 minutes per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 34.1 percent from the 3-point line. Knox is a small forward but fits today’s NBA as a stretch-4.

The Nuggets could play Knox at small forward or they could go small by playing him at power forward with Jokic at center. Knox is still only 18 years old and needs to develop both his body and skill-set. The Nuggets wouldn’t have to rush Knox into being a starter but could utilize him off the bench as a scorer and a second unit role player. He gives the Nuggets an excellent replacement for Wilson Chandler in a few seasons.

The Ringer compared Knox to Tobias Harris and Jeff Green. Both guys are bigger wings who can play some power forward. I think Knox has a chance to be a Tobias Harris type player and be a central part of the offense and go-to scoring option.
