Jeff Green

Ah, Jeff Green. The Memphis Grizzlies shipped off a first round pick to acquire Green in one of the more embarrassing trades in franchise history back in the 2014-15 season. The Grizzlies traded Green away the following season in one of the worst examples of asset management in league history.

Credit to Green, he averaged double-digit scoring in both of his abbreviated seasons in Memphis. He was never exactly who they needed him to be, though. He wasn’t efficient enough to be the perfect third option beyond Gasol Mike Conley, and his athleticism was less important when he wasn’t in a leading ball-handler role. He was good, but not good enough.

Currently, Green is making his talents mesh with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Green himself struggled in the first round, shooting just 34.2 percent from the field in their matchup with the Indiana Pacers. He was an overwhelming negative every time he subbed into the game, but he did just enough to get by, and unlike the Grizz, he is still playing.
