8. Big man dominance

Whenever a player with the stature of LeBron James comes to town, the game receives an added level of importance, with fans packing the seats and everyone’s eyes glued on The King.

So when the Cleveland Cavaliers arrived for an early March matchup with the Clippers, it was viewed as somewhat of a statement game for L.A., a measuring stick to see just how real they really were.

A statement was made that night, as the Clippers won handily, 116-102. All-Star center DeAndre Jordan made a statement all by himself, putting up 20 points to go along with 23 rebounds.

As the trade deadline came and went, Jordan came up in many rumors, with his name being linked to a possible deal that would send him to Cleveland. Nothing materialized, as the Cavs didn’t want to part with certain assets in order to acquire the high-flying big man.

With a 20-20 game, Jordan sent a message to the Cavaliers, emphatically showing that he’s one of the best centers in the league and that he can impact a game on both ends of the court.

Luckily for the Clippers, that performance came with Jordan on their side, as it helped them get a quality win against an elite opponent, giving them momentum as the final stretch of the regular season was fast approaching.
