1. The Pacers can make it out of the East

Here’s a fact for you: The Pacers have won seven of eight contests against the Warriors, Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs this season. Yup. Take that for data.

The bottom line here is that the Pacers are indeed a legitimate threat in the East. There is nothing stopping their momentum, and they have everything from star power to breakout candidates to gritty defenders and proven veterans.

The way the Golden State Warriors rose to their current powerhouse form is by not caring about who is pegged or slated to succeed in a given season. Stephen Curry shocked the greatest of NBA household names on a nightly basis as he and Klay Thompson splashed their way to a completely unexpected Finals victory.

Granted, the Pacers may not be that enigmatic, but they certainly have all of the elements to beat most of the contenders in the pedestrian East. As they have proven with the Warriors, they don’t care about labels, their opponents’ swagger, or what Steven A. Smith is saying about them. Don’t be surprised to see this team go far into the playoffs.
