2017-18 NBA Power Rankings: Trade deadline primer in Week 17

In Week 17 of NBA Power Rankings, we take a look at what’s going on both on and off the court with a primer for the 2018 NBA Trade Deadline.

With blockbuster deals like Blake Griffin and Tyler Zeller going through over the last few weeks (okay fine, “blockbuster deal”), it’s hard to know what to expect heading into the 2018 NBA Trade Deadline.

Will the Los Angeles Lakers continue with their plans to go all in on 2018 free agency, or will they truly pivot and embrace the growth of their youngsters? Does Danny Ainge have another move in him to bolster the Boston Celtics’ roster for a legitimate championship run? Can the Oklahoma City Thunder make a move to make up for a key injury? Who will be the league’s biggest buyers and sellers?

While the action continues on the court, it can be hard to balance all the trade reports and keep tabs on the actual basketball itself. Luckily, Week 17 of NBA Power Rankings is here to make your life a little bit easier.

In an effort to stay true to NBA Power Rankings, we’ll be taking a quick look at what’s gone on with the actual games, as usual. However, for each team we’ll also take a quick look at the most notable trade reports and rumors to ensure we’re prepared for what might happen as Thursday’s deadline approaches. With that in mind, let’s get to it!
