10. Josh Hart, Los Angeles Lakers
Last week: N/A
The Los Angeles Lakers are a young team, that’s no secret. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to see yet another rookie on their roster crack this week’s NBA Rookie of the Year ladder. Rookie guard Josh Hart has come on strong since seeing increased minutes in the Lakers’ last two contests.
Hart had 14 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals in Los Angeles’ 108-104 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday afternoon. He put up 15 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and a steal in a 102-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. Hart has recorded two straight double-doubles, showing he can do a whole lot more than score this season for the Lakers.

The Villanova product is putting up just 5.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game this season but that’s likely to change with his latest few outings. The Lakers have continued to see point guard Lonzo Ball sit out 10 games and counting while dealing with a sprained MCL injury in his left knee.
