The team

Indiana showed a propensity throughout the preseason to share the wealth and have nice balance in terms of scoring. There is a good chance that will continue with five or even six players scoring in double figures on a routine basis.

The pace the Pacers played at during the preseason was noticeably faster than the tempo they used in 2016-17. They now have more players who are well-suited for this style.

Another factor that will help Indiana increase its offensive pace is the absence of a ball-dominant focal point — better ball movement will allow the Pacers to play faster than they did last year.

Despite all the changes and a perceived reduction in overall talent, this team is showing a great deal of enthusiasm and optimism going into the 2017-18 campaign. Several players have commented on the improved attitude this group possesses. This Indiana club feels it has a good shot at a playoff berth, and seemingly can’t wait to prove the doubters wrong.
