7. Enes Kanter

As perhaps the crown jewel of the Carmelo Anthony trade (yikes), Enes Kanter should fill a similar role to the one he had with the Thunder, where he received steady minutes off the bench in a designated sixth man role.

The problem with Kanter has never been his production, as he’s a go-to option off the pine and solid rebounder who puts up great numbers in limited minutes. Case in point, the 25-year-old center put up 14.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in just 21.3 minutes per game last season.

The problem, which limited him to eighth in 2016-17 Sixth Man of the Year voting, is his abhorrent defense. That won’t be as much of a problem on a rebuilding New York Knicks team, but in a frontcourt that includes Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez, Kyle O’Quinn and Joakim Noah, he’ll need to receive enough minutes to put up a Sixth Man of the Year stat line.
