2. Be named All-NBA

C.J. McCollum has a better chance of being named to an All-NBA team than being named an All-Star in the Western Conference. While guys like Stephen Curry, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and John Wall are each likely to earn one of the six guard spots, I highly believe that two of those spots will be up for grabs.

Last year, those last two spots went to Isaiah Thomas and DeMar DeRozan — each of whom were more than deserving — and both will likely be candidates next year, as well. McCollum will also have to compete with guys like Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving, Chris Paul and Damian Lillard for those last two All-NBA guard spots.

Nevertheless, I highly believe that McCollum is more than capable of earning one of those two spots over any of the names above. If he’s able to continue his upward trend and post career-highs in almost every statistical category, I don’t see a reason why anyone should bet against McCollum earning All-NBA honors this season.
