Denver Nuggets

Key additions:  Paul Millsap (free agency), Trey Lyles (trade), Tyler Lydon (draft), Monte Morris (draft), Josh Childress (free agency)

Key subtractions:  Danilo Gallinari (sign-and-trade), Roy Hibbert (free agency)

Mason Plumlee‘s restricted free agency ultimately resulted in a three-year, $41 million overpay, which dropped this grade from a B+ down to a B-. But even before that, it was a bit of a mixed bag for the Denver Nuggets this summer.

On the positive side, Paul Millsap is the first marquee free agency signing for this franchise in…possibly ever, and addresses Denver’s need for a quality power forward, veteran leadership and some defensive integrity after ranking 29th in defensive rating last year.

However, how many damn power forwards does this team need? Because as great as signing Millsap was, trading the No. 13 pick for Trey Lyles (a power forward) and the No. 24 pick (used on another power forward, Tyler Lydon) seemed stupid before watching Donovan Mitchell tear it up at NBA Summer League.
