2. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder have had one of the quieter offseasons on this list in terms of the number of transactions.

However, the acquisitions they have made have been franchise-changing or sneaky good.

We all know about the Paul George trade where the Thunder had to only give up two players, Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Sabonis has upside, but didn’t flash it very often during his rookie year in Oklahoma City. As a 21-year-old, 6’11” forward, he has the skills to turn into an outside threat.

Oladipo is a different story. Although he’s a much better player than Sabonis at this point in his career, he’s vastly overpaid. He’s due $21 million each of the next four seasons as his contract extension kicks in this season. That’s a huge weight for the Thunder to get out from under.

Oh, and getting Paul George isn’t bad either.

Sam Presti also drafted Terrance Ferguson, the 19-year-old Oklahoma native, who spent the past year playing pro-ball in Australia. It may take him a couple of years to get the hang of the NBA, but he could end being a good role-player for the team.

Re-signing Andre Roberson allows the Thunder to patch that gap from now until Ferguson is ready to contribute. Roberson also gives Oklahoma City a premier defender.

The most underrated signings of the offseason also happened in OKC, bringing in Raymond Felton and Patrick Patterson to cheap deals.

Felton signed for the veteran’s minimum, while Patterson signed a three-year, $16.3 million deal.

These moves will put the Thunder in the top four of the Western Conference next season.
