1. Crack the rotation

Before all else, Mitchell’s overarching goal for his first professional season should simply be to find playing time during meaningful moments of games. The Jazz, however, are set up to make this difficult due to their already-talented stable of assets.

He can accomplish this by exhibiting many of the positive traits outlined previously — shooting consistently, learning the offense and buying into the culture that Quin Snyder and the roster’s core have spent years cultivating.

Mitchell’s impressive Summer League play has to have turned heads in the Jazz front office, so it’s more likely now than before that he’ll receive a more substantial slice of playing time.

Mitchell wasn’t brought in to be an immediate contributor, but his fit and talent should make him an oft-scrutinized asset for the Jazz.
