Zach Randolph: 2 years, $24 million (Sacramento Kings)

Similar to the George Hill signing, the Sacramento Kings are looking to address their lack of locker room leadership by signing Zach Randolph. A two-year deal insures this 35-year-old won’t be a burden on the cap sheet if his body begins to break down, while the Kings get one of the best sixth men in the league from last season.

While it’s jarring to hear “Zach Randolph” and “locker room leader” in the same sentence given the way his career began, Z-Bo will have plenty of wisdom to impart on the younger frontcourt featuring Willie Cauley-Stein, Skal Labissiere, Harry Giles and Georgios Papagiannis. Here’s hoping he doesn’t steal too many minutes from them.

Last year, Randolph averaged 14.1 points and 8.2 rebounds in just 24.5 minutes per game off the bench. He doesn’t move the needle to “playoff team” for the Kings, but along with Hill, this signing shows the Kings are at least trying to change their culture for the better.
