Odds And Ends

Rounding out the Blazers’ expensive summer were two minor signings that are unlikely to affect the rotation in any way in 2016-17.

First up is Grant Jerrett, a 6’10” power forward originally drafted by Portland back in 2013 at No. 40. Jerrett has spent the last few years bouncing around the league (but mostly, D-League). He holds career averages of 2.0 points and 1.1 rebounds per game in his eight career NBA games, and was signed to a two-year, partially guaranteed deal.

Then there’s Tim Quarterman, a 6’6″ guard from LSU who went undrafted in this year’s draft but was able to suit up for the Charlotte Hornets’ Summer League squad. He averaged 5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, shooting 37.5 percent from three-point territory.

The Blazers signed Quarterman to a three-year, partially guaranteed contract. Neither one will likely carve out a space in Stotts’ rotation, however.
