5 Roster Moves The Chicago Bulls Need To Make
5. Move On From Joakim Noah
At the start of last season I never thought that I would say that. It almost physically hurts to but for the long term Bulls plans, they pretty much have to, despite how much I think the Bulls are going to struggle on defense next year.
In Noah’s nine seasons with Chicago, he has missed 15 or more games in five of them. Now that the Bulls are about to start rebuilding, they cannot afford to have a player taking up a large portion of the salary cap if they are a chance of missing a fifth of the season at the least.
Last season Noah missed 53 games for the Bulls. With a $13.4 million dollar price tag, that is too much of a risk for the rebuilding Bulls to take.
Noah is an amazing defender which is shown by the fact that he was the 2013 – 14 defensive player of the year.
For me, the Bulls have two main issues in keeping Noah. He is going to be offered large sums of money by other teams who are looking for a top rebounding/defending player and the Bulls don’t need to take that size financial risk when they are trying to rebuild.
Secondly, despite the fact that Noah is a great locker room presence, he is 31 so will not be part of the Bulls plans going forward after his next contract.

Unfortunately for Chicago fans, they might be in for a few difficult seasons. But as always there is light at the end of the tunnel, just look at what the Portland Trailblazers did with one guaranteed star, one good prospect and a heap of role players last season.
