2. Re-Sign Ty Lawson

As mentioned in the previous slide, the starting five is set if Ian Mahinmi decides to re-sign. However, you cannot win a championship by going though the regular season and the early round of the playoffs without a decent bench

I know Lawson has had a number of off court issues  but with luck and good management hopefully these are behind him.

I get the feeling that he will re-sign with Indiana as they offered him a lifeline after the Houston Rockets debacle. I know that James Harden is a statistically supreme player but he was able to turn a career 13.1 points per game guard into a 5.8 point per game guard.

Indiana were the only team that took a flyer on the troubled point guard and he will show them faith by re-signing with them.

The 13 games that he played for Indiana were interspersed with injuries so judging by this small sample size is not that easy. In 18.1 minutes he averaged 4.9 points, 4.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. Not the best numbers, but having a more traditional team will help him.

Despite playing with a new team his assist to turnover ratio was 4.4:1 so he was very careful with the ball.

He will provide excellent back up for Teague, making Indiana a difficult prospect even when the All-Star point guard is on the bench.
