Bogdan Bogdanovic

Bogdan Bogdanovic was taken by the Phoenix Suns with the 27th pick.

He projected as a good athlete, solid defender and a proficient shooter while being able to play either guard spot which would certainly be a welcomed addition to the Suns who could use another reliable backcourt option behind Bledsoe, Booker and Knight.

Bogdanovic has had an excellent career overseas. Going into the draft he was coming off of being named Serbian League Finals MVP and he was the MVP of the Turkish Cup leading his team to the championship this season.

Bogdanovic also was named Euroleague Rising Star both in 2014 and 2015.

Unfortunately for the Suns it looks like they will be waiting a third year for Bogdanovich as he reportedly will be staying in Europe.

The move makes all the financial sense in the world for Bogdanovich, who will be able to be signed off of the rookie scale next season when the projected cap is much higher than it stands currently.

This decision is certainly a tough blow for the Suns and their fans as now Phoenix will be forced to put up big money for a player that is unproven at the NBA level if they want to bring him here negating one of the biggest advantages of drafting a rookie.
