17. Lance Stephenson

On the season, Lance Stephenson is only averaging 8.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. He was all but run out of Los Angeles just a few months after being all but run out Charlotte, but — go figure — he’s found himself playing for a hard-nosed, defensive team again.

On a tough, gritty team more aligned with what he was used to in Indiana, Born Ready has been reborn with the Memphis Grizzlies, averaging 14.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on 47.3 percent shooting. His 33-7-4 stat line against the Pelicans in early March was a great example of what he can bring to the table.

Stephenson’s $9.4 million salary for next season is a team option, but if the Grizz want to remain competitive and don’t blow the roster up, he’s certainly proven himself worthy of sticking around for another year of grit-n-grind.
