Top Four Point Guards

  1. John Wall, Washington Wizards ($9,200) vs. Houston Rockets
  2. Reggie Jackson, Detroit Pistons ($7,300) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (tired team)
  3. Elfrid Payton, Orlando Magic ($6,800) vs. Phoenix Suns
  4. Ricky Rubio, Minnesota Timberwolves ($7,100) vs. L.A. Lakers

Rationale:

  • Wall is the top point guard in fantasy over the past week, according to ESPN’s player rater, and the Rockets are average against PGs (having Patrick Beverley helps but Ty Lawson is still a liability).
  • Memphis is middle of the pack vs. PGs on FanDuel, but they are playing their second consecutive game and third in four nights. Jackson laid an egg against Charlotte on Monday but he hadn’t fallen below 31 fantasy points in the four games before that clunker.
  • Phoenix is second most generous to point guards overall, but Payton wasn’t that great against them last season (8.0 PPG, 7.0 APG, 6.5 RPG). Still, he is averaging 34.7 FPPG over the past three contests prior to Tuesday night.
  • The Lakers are the worst team in the league at defending point guards and Rubio has stepped up lately, with 35.1 fantasy points over his last two games.
  • Isaiah Thomas would be a close fifth as the Bulls are in the lower third against PGs over their past five games but middle of the pack otherwise.
