19. Michael Jordan

This is not another unrealistic shrine to Michael Jordan’s greatness. Instead, it’s an acknowledgement of just how remarkable Jordan’s mid-range jump shot and post game truly were.

Between his 16-to-24 footer and his turnaround jumper, Jordan’s jump shot was unstoppable.

He doesn’t have elite 3-point shooting marks, but that isn’t an indictment on his status as an all-time shooter. His offensive game was predicated on his ability to complement his slashing ability with an equally as lethal jump shot, and his efficiency speaks volume to the success rate.

Not only did he post the highest scoring average of all-time, but Jordan—a perimeter player—still managed to shoot 49.7 percent from the field for his career.

As for his jumper from distance, Jordan adapted to the change in standards. He shot 42.7 percent from 3-point range while making 100-plus attempts in 1995-96, and maintained a quality level of efficiency for most of 1990s.

3-point shot be damned, Jordan’s unstoppable mid-range game and turnaround jumper net him a spot on this list.
