Jarrett Jack, Brooklyn Nets

Jarrett Jack isn’t the best backup point guard in the NBA, but he’s certainly up there. He’s a productive player who, if nothing else, has proven to be one of the better clutch performers in the league.

For a team without a true backup point guard, acquiring Jack would be an incredibly ideal scenario.

The issue in landing Jack is that he’s under contract through 2016-17. Jamal Crawford, meanwhile, has a partially guaranteed deal for 2015-16 and will become a free agent that summer.

Throw in the fact that Jack makes $6.3 million per season and Jack becomes less attractive.

With a rising salary cap, however, the Clippers would be hard-pressed to not at least consider Jack as an option. He’s a quality facilitator who can space the floor and provide the occasional late-game heroics that Los Angeles is clearly lacking.

In his past two postseason appearances, Jack is averaging 15.6 points on 51.0 percent shooting from the field in 18 games played. That includes 12.3 points on a .519/.333/1.000 slash line in 2015.

There’s immense value in that. The question is, is he worth the long-term investment?
