Dwyane Wade: The 10 Best Games Of His Career
By Sam Richmond
March 9, 2009 — Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat
48 points, six rebounds and 12 assists in 50 minutes
This was a vintage Wade performance — his athleticism, clutchness, offensive prowess and defensive ability were all on display. He shredded the Chicago Bulls in all facets of the game, scoring 48 points while shooting 15-of-21 from the field, 5-of-6 from three, 13-of-18 from the line and adding 12 assists, six rebounds, four steals and four blocks.
It shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise that one of Wade’s greatest performances featured one of the greatest sequences of his career.
Tied at 127 with three seconds left in the second overtime period, Wade stripped John Salmons, raced to the other side of the court and heaved a three-pointer in at the buzzer to give Miami the 130-127 victory.
It’s hard to watch that and not get goosebumps, especially when Wade jumps up on the scorer’s table and yells “this is my house!” to the AmericanAirlines Arena crowd.
The game-winning three wasn’t the only clutch jumper Wade hit in the contest. He drilled a three over Salmons late in regulation that sent the game into overtime.
It’s a testament to how legendary of a career Wade has had that this didn’t receive the top spot on our list.
