17. Rashard Lewis

Rashard Lewis was once part of an up and coming Seattle SuperSonics team, averaging 22 points and six rebounds, and leading his team to a first-place finish in the Northwest Division.

However, after the team disappointed the next year, Lewis’ contract year, Lewis would leave to sign a much-criticized mega deal with the Orlando Magic, for six years and $118 million.

He was still a good player for awhile, playing alongside new franchise cornerstone Dwight Howard, and helping his team make the NBA Finals in 2009.

However, not long after the Finals ended, Lewis would be caught using performance enhancing substances and suspended for the start of the next season.

After the suspension, his performance declined dramatically, eventually landing him in one of the craziest trades the NBA has ever seen, as his albatross of a contract was sent to Washington for the even bigger albatross contract of Gilbert Arenas.

By that time, Lewis was no longer a starting caliber player and he would ride the pine into the sunset of his career.
