6. Doug McDermott – Chicago Bulls/SF

Last Week: No. 5

Doug McDermott had a bit of a breakout game against the Orlando Magic scoring 12 points. Against the Magic, McDermott shot 66 percent from the field, made half of his 3-pointers, and nailed all of his free throws. What made his scoring output impressive was that he scored 12 points in 12 minutes.

However, besides the game against the Wolves, McDermott began to slip a bit this week but It’s still all good. Dougie McBuckets has consistently found himself getting open within the Bulls offense, and that’s the key. McDermott isn’t scoring a lot of points consistently because the defense is too overwhelming for his game.

The reason he hasn’t had a lot of big scoring games yet is because he’s missing open shots. Regardless of his misses, the law of averages is going to play out, and eventually good shooters will … remain good shooters, and McDermott is as good as they come.

In his other two games during this week he scored two points. Again, McDermott is going to play more consistent when he starts to make his open shots, but until then, we had to move him down a spot.
