There are plenty of reasons for Miami Heat fans to be pumped up about the upcoming season, as it has the chance to be the team’s best season in years.

The Miami Heat‘s 2018-19 season was a failure. There’s no sugarcoating it. The team expected to return to the playoffs and send off franchise legend Dwyane Wade in the postseason. Instead, the team failed to qualify and sent off Wade in an otherwise meaningless final game.

This failure was a wake-up call for Miami. The front office realized that they needed to commit to winning or a rebuild, as their place in the middle of the league hierarchy was not favorable. This summer saw the Heat make several changes to their roster.

Miami is only bringing back seven of the 13 players that played at least 500 minutes for them last season. The new players being brought in are in varying stages of their basketball career. From multi-time All-Star Jimmy Butler to rookies Tyler Herro and KZ Okpala, the new kids on the block all bring some excitement to Miami.

Overall, there’s more excitement and buzz around the Heat this offseason than there was last summer. The reshuffled roster has made the Heat a more attractive and better team. It has the chance to be competitive in an Eastern Conference that saw it’s conference championship team lose its best player to the west.

While there is more uncertainty in this year’s Heat squad, there’s also more hope. Miami has the talent to make some noise in the upcoming season as well as some intriguing young players.

There’s some real excitement around the Heat now. Here are the five biggest reasons to be excited about the 2019-20 season.
