Boston Celtics forward Robert Williams was widely viewed as a steal on draft night, albeit a steal with an asterisk attached. After a rocky beginning, what can we expect from the rookie on one of the leagues most talented rosters?

Projected as a mid-first round talent, Robert Williams slipped to the Boston Celtics all the way down at pick No. 27. The selection had all the hallmarks of Danny Ainge and the Celtics getting richer, with the big man clearly more talented than the draft number would suggest.

Truth be told, Williams would have left the board far earlier if it wasn’t for concerns over his professionalism and ability to remain focused on his job — playing basketball.

Big men often take time adjusting to the rigours of NBA play and the going will in all likelihood be tough for the former Texas A&M big man, with Boston possessing one of the deepest rosters in the entire NBA.

With the regular season tipping off in just a few days, Hoops Habit take a look at three realistic goals for Robert Williams’ rookie campaign.
