The Washington Wizards owned a pick in the 2018 NBA Draft after a two-year absence. Now, the pressure is on for Troy Brown Jr. to produce as a rookie.

The Washington Wizards‘ selection of versatile forward Troy Brown Jr. with the 15th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft was greeted with its fair share of skepticism. For a team looking to improve behind the arc, Brown’s numbers didn’t exactly jump off the page.

Brown shot just 32-of-110 (29.1 percent) from 3-point range in his lone season of college basketball with the Oregon Ducks. Despite struggling from the 3-point line, Brown still found ways to score in other ways. He averaged 11.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game while starting in all 35 of his appearances.

Still, Brown turned heads with his play in Summer League. He put up 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in five games in Las Vegas. He didn’t shoot well from behind the arc but he gave fans a glimpse of what he’s capable of. Brown put up 20 points or more in three contests, including 25 points in their final game of Summer League against the Dallas Mavericks.

Brown will have high expectations entering his rookie season. Here’s a look at five goals for Troy Brown Jr. entering the 2018-19 campaign.
